America Celebrates! Two holidays - one packet.

If you have frequented my blog you may have assumed that I love writing. Well…your absolutely right!
I also love writing with children. I’m passionate about working with students on creative writing projects especially. Their creativity can actually make me glow. :-) Sometimes I get so excited they ask me to calm down. LOL
Here is a packet I put together that celebrates two holidays, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day. I thought I should share it now since MLK Day is just 2 weeks away.
The 20 page packet includes…
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- “Travelin’ Times” newspaper (color /gray scale)
- “I Have a Dream” foldable (2 pages)
- How Do You Follow in Dr. King’s Foot-steps?
Presidents’ Day
- “My Presidential Goals”
- “America” (blank writing page)
George Washington
- “Travelin’ Times” newspaper (color /gray scale)
- “First President” foldable (2 pages)
- “Did You Know?” fact sheet
Abraham Lincoln
- “Travelin’ Times” newspaper (color /gray scale)
- “Freedom” foldable (2 pages)
- “Did You Know?” fact sheet
I love the “Travelin’ Times” newspaper activity. Students travel back in history and report their findings in their own newspaper. The final product should be fun to read.
Check out my TpT store to view the rest of “America Celebrates” and get ready for these TWO national holidays.
You may also be interested in my Fortune Cookie Creation Station. It’s great for a writing center and includes everything you need to make cool paper fortune cookies. The Chinese New Year is celebrated January 23rd this year. My “Creation Station” will help your kiddies get ready for it.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you to pick up my freebies while you’re there. They’re perfect for this time of year! Brrrrrrrrr
