I am a total Pawn Stars addict. Love that show and all the characters. So do a bunch of students I know. :-) It really has become a hit with the kids, which I think is terrific.
A pawn shop is a perfect theme for a math center so I created this one incorporating actual items from the show and used some pawn shop lingo. Students will make connections and have fun completing the (10) “math story cards”. They can even use the template and vocabulary bank provided to create their own pawn shop story problem. Fun and engaging!

New episodes start this Monday and I just found out that many full episodes/segments can be seen online at the History Channel.
I think it would be awesome if students would write their own segments and perform it. Would make a great video! Terrific math/literacy activity. The “Create Your Own Pawn Shop Story Card” worksheet would be perfect for this.
