One of my students reminded me today of a site I used last year called Fuzzwich. Fuzzwich is a site where you and your students create minivids (similar to animated cartoons). There are a wide variety of props, people, animals, backgrounds and music to help you make your minivid. It may take you a little while to learn how the timeline of your minivid works but once you get that down you’ll be on easy street.
I made one myself last year to tell some students what a great job they did on a project. The character I used was President Obama. They were thrilled to receive their minivid which I posted on their project page.
Another time I had a student with me just to calm down for a while (he had trouble in his class) and I showed him how to make one. This is what he made in approximately 20 minutes. Strange subject matter but he enjoyed making his project and was then able to go back to his classroom.
I’m not saying Fuzzwich can be used as therapy but hey whatever works. Kids do like this.
Your Fuzzwich minivids can be embedded or shared by a link.
Also you may want to check out the Fuzzwich Fridge. It’s a site where students can create “magnetic” refrigerator poetry. These creations can also be embedded or shared by a link.
