Create your own Comic Strips in the Classroom

A wonderful teacher at my school told me that he had a few boys in his class that love to draw. In fact, they would love to draw all day. Now on the other hand, writing…not so much. I thought that one way to tackle this dilemma would be for his students to create comics and even comic books. It would incorporate a love and a skill and produce a product that the students could be proud of.

    Communicating Ideas using Posters, Newspapers, and Comics is a fabulous interactive resource for students. #elemchat #spedchat #literacy #newspapers #comics Each interactive teaches about its subject through a neat little animated cartoon and when finished students can use the site’s tools to create their own (poster, newspaper,or comic). Educational Application: Of course students could create their own scenes and write the dialogue but I thought it would also be a neat idea for students to create scenes, then give it to another student to write the dialogue. Students would find it interesting to read what other students have written using their scenes.

I just created one called Do It! Online for Kids.  I think 3x3Links is a neat way to put links together that students can access easily. I chose sites that help develop creativity in many genres and that no registration would be needed. The sites can easily be accessed at home as well as school.
