Terrific Science resource with lots of creative ideas and downloads! Ellen McHenry’s Basement Workshop   #scichat #spedchat #elemchat  Ellen has “been building and inventing educational things for the past 20 years, including educational games, projects, songs, activities, skits, plays, textbooks, hands-on science exhibits, and published books.”  She is now working her way through “the stacks of things sitting on my shelves, digitalizing them, and posting them for anyone who might find them useful.  Individual items are posted as FREE DOWNLOADS.” Lucky for us!  What I really think you might like is her free downloads that include games and units. Lots of neat science stuff but she also has some great things for other subjects. I hadn’t used it lately and WOW was I surprised. I love the new look of ABCya! When did it happen? I think it is much more appealing in look for grades 3-5 than before. Of course, it remains very appealing to grades K-2. #elemchat #spedchat #games The site is extremely easy to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for. I love that you can just click on a grade (K-5) and up pops a plethora of academic games that are definitely built for engaging kids. Aprox. 40+ games per grade. Nearly every subject is covered under four categories, letters, numbers, other, and holidays. The games are perfect for practicing and refreshing skills learned in class. I have added Digital Dialects to  Countries for Kids (under the tab general resources) Lesson Idea: If your class is studying a specific country or region it would be great if they could learn some words in that language while playing a few fun games.  This is a great binder to use if your school has an “International Day” like my school.
