Yes. I admit it. I’m guilty, OK! I steal art lessons from wonderful art teachers with blogs.
Well, the least I could do is share these blogs with my readers. They are so inspirational and classroom teachers can use them also. Even if you feel you are not creative (and I doubt that’s true) you can get some great projects to do with your students (with photos and directions) from art teacher blogs…and they love to share. If you do use one of their projects and post it please give them credit with a link to their blog. I’m sure they will appreciate it.
With lesson plans due on Tuesday these are the blogs I stole lessons from today. Sometimes I use the lesson completely but most of the time I add my little tweaks here and there.
Teach Kids Art
Mini Matisse
There’s a Dragon in my Art Room
Her Dabbles
School Arts Room
Art Matters
To find more art teacher blogs check out Vivid Layers Art Teacher Blog Directory. It is an amazing resource.

I am accumulating so many great lessons…Hmmmmm…New LiveBinder thought!

This is just a quickie note to let you know that “I Love that Teaching Idea” has tons of really innovative teaching ideas submitted by teachers.  There are 20 “Idea Directories” packed full of great lessons.  I have been looking through the character education ideas and picked up a few I will use in my classroom.

Art Attacks is a wonderful resource for art lessons. Art attacks is a weekly UK television show with art projects of all kinds for kids.  On the website they have complete directions for each project as well as a photo tutorial.  There are lots of neat projects here that are great for home or school.  Too bad we don’t have the TV show in the US.  I would love to see it.
Check out this lesson for a “creepy hand”.  I love the detail that is added.

ActivityTv is another great find from Richard Byrne.  I found it to be a good resource for kids art projects.  What I especially liked was that each project has an instructional video to go along with it.  There were a variety of mediums used and projects are labeled beginner, intermediate or expert.  Description, instruction, safety, and a materials list are available for each project.  User reviews are available and you can also add your own.  Your students might like to write a review of a project they have just completed too!
