FlickrPoet is a neat writing site that puts pictures to your text. #elemchat #spedchat #poetry #writing All you need to do is type in your poem or text and FlickrPoet does the rest using creative commons photos from Flickr. There is no way to print directly from the site but you could just take a screen shot of the final product, save it to your computer and print from there. Another suggestion would be to use “Print What You Like” Included in  Kool Kids Write Poetryand Write On! for Kids Screenshot of student work at top.

Haiku (PBS) is a great tool to help students learn to write Haiku poetry. Students select words from a word bank. Each word has a number on it to represent the number of syllables of that word. Students arrange their poem on 3 lines provided. Neat way to practice Haiku writing and creating.   Offline Classroom Application: This could also be done using word cards that students create and have added the number of syllables to.
