You can add your own text and customize various aspects such as speed, text size, space between lines, how many words show at a time, etc. I really like this tool and believe that students could benefit from using it. They could graph their results each time they use it to see their improvement.

I know there are fancier sites for photo/image editing such as iPiccy, but this one is fast and simple, perfect for a small job.

Have Fun Teaching didn’t look that promising at first.  The site is nothing fancy.  That’s fine with me because that’s not what I’m looking for.  They have some of the nicest worksheets around.  They have worksheets for nearly every subject.  Today I am using some of their word family worksheets.  The color pictures are modern and eye catching. Not only can you use their fabulous variety of work sheets but you can also create your own.  This is a really nice feature. But wait, there’s more…lots more. Check out their video library too.  They have the best “rap style” phonics videos that I have ever seen.  Lots of repetition…in a thoroughly engaging way.  I can’t wait to use these with my emergent readers. They also have great songs based on all sort of themes, a nice assortment of coloring pages, flash cards, fun activities, and teacher tools.
